Classes Added

WritingBootcampAs I posted before, I created an all-new workshop series focused on productivity for my adult education classes at Mood Designer Fabrics in Hancock Park.

These new classes are in addition to the regular new media intensives that I started last year. Designed for companies, artists and entrepreneurs, such as Hollywood creative types, small businesses and sole proprietors, this program features my first writing class, a workshop on event planning and a lesson in balancing life and work. Admission is free and each 90-minute class starts promptly at 5 pm on Thursdays from mid-August through October. Please register at Mood Fabrics’ Mood U. Sometimes, classes go longer (up to two hours) and we end up at Starbucks. Plan ahead and allow time for L.A.’s horrendous traffic and parking at Project Runway partner’s West Coast showroom near South La Brea Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard.

Workshops include (click on class for more info):

Success with Social Media

The Art of the Blog

Do-it-Yourself PR

How to Brand What You Design Make & Do

Marketing Yourself for Maximum Impact

How to Get New Customers

Designing Your Work

How to Plan an Event with Panache

Writing Boot Camp

Each class includes Q & A, examples, step-by-step instruction, pros and cons and a visual presentation. I love helping people master communications to serve what they love to do, make and design and students tell me they find the classes rewarding. In fact, one student who endorsed the workshops on LinkedIn wrote:

Scott Holleran is a sensational teacher, lecturer and communicator. ALL his workshops are very informative and can be applied to whatever line of work or career path you have chosen. It doesn’t just apply to fashion! Every class that I have been to (5 of them, so far), I take away fresh and valuable information and also learn something new about myself each time. INSPIRATIONAL!”

New Media Workshops

brandingAfter an invigorating series of communications workshops last year, sponsored by Mood School in the new West Coast showroom in mid-city Los Angeles for Mood Designer Fabrics (Project Runway), I’ve been asked to create and teach a new classroom series.

Click on any of these titles for more info on the 90-minute, live sessions:

Admission is free, though attendees are asked to register through Mood School (select from classes here).

Each class, which takes place in a classroom inside Mood Fabrics’ bright, open L.A. showroom on La Brea Avenue near Wilshire Boulevard, is an interactive experience with visual presentation. Question and answer is included. Arrive early because parking, while free in spaces behind the property and in an adjacent lot accessible from the alley, is limited. Street and metered parking is also available.

Workshops are scheduled for Tuesdays at 5 pm now through March. See this page for an index of my workshops, which peg to specific calendar dates. Private instruction is also available. I hope to meet and see some of my readers soon.
